MELISSA HUTTON

I am a multimedia artist who combines a variety of disciplines such as printmaking, painting and graphic design to create my work. Approaching each piece as if it were a still frame or snapshot in time, my work aims to explore the complexities of the United States of America in parallel to my own personal experiences within it. Taking inspiration from the pop art era, I use bright colors and sharp lines to create images that are often somber, usually moody and always a bit humorous.

 

Currently based in Napa CA, I’ve been honing my skills as an artist and graphic designer for most of my life. After graduating with a BA degree in printmaking and film, I began blending my passion for both disciplines, allowing each to inform the other.
